Little Beckham???

And so it begins. I am officially a soccer mom now. Soon, my days will consist primarily of carting children around to different sporting events. Ok, not really, but Eric DOES have one soccer practice (Friday) and one game (Saturday) each week.

He had a blast, although I did hear more than once - "No Eric, you are on OUR team - kick it this way!" Poor kid just wanted to get a foot on the ball. After all that excitement, he slept like a log last night (the real reason parents enroll their kids in sports, I suspect!). He knows a bunch of kids on his team from church and school and the coaches are two of James and my friends, so it's good all around.

Here is my little Beckham, complete with his WAY too big shin guards. Fear not - he already has a new smaller pair, so as not to be confused with a football player instead.

And here is my little Ben, playing a game of one. Turns out it is much easier to score when you have no opponents. Check out his form, though. Ha.

First game is today in a couple hours. Let's hope he does not become the prize player for the other team today. :)
